Life among the serial killers..

Recently i read a book by Helen Morrison and Harold Goldberg.. Its about Helen Morrison's work among the serial killers. Well.. its not as fantastic as i would have anticipated. The book contains many case studies and there are some interesting anecdotes but the author does not include enough.
Another sour thing about the book is that, at the last chapter the author criticises another colleague who presented "her" theory as his own in an annual conference. Frankly speaking, shouldn't this book be focusing on the studies and developments she made on the serial killers rather then criticisms of other professionals and accusation of who came out with the idea first? Throughout the chapters, the author also focus too much on how she worked her way through the male dominating working environment while the attention should seriously be given to a more in depth studies of the killers mindset.
Theories like, serial killers are inborn (the so-called criminal genes) and having emotion not maturing beyond the age of infant, sounds quite ridiculous to me. This may probably be true but author should have more background evidences before concluding all these.
Though its not a very good book for understanding of serial killers, this book did help me in enduring my long hours flight to NY
